Producer DJ Muggs is gearing up for the release of his long awaited Bass For Your Face LP and revealed a video for its latest single, “People Of The Earth.” Check out the music video below…

Video Synopsis: In the Jamie Mitchell directed video, DJ Muggs explores the idea that shape-shifting reptilian people will control our world by taking on human form and gaining political power to manipulate our society in his brand new music video for “People of the Earth.” It begins with a President Obama look-a-like becoming fed up with a reporter asking questions and the President looses his cool, thus showing his true form. Conspiracy theorists believe that many world leaders are reptilians from the Alpha Draconis star system attempting to gain power to run the world. “People of The Earth” uses elements of political satire and is a modern parody of the classic Science Fiction B movie with a hard hitting back beat of bass pumping Dub Step.

Before the release of his solo album Smoke N Mirrors in 2009, B-Real reported that Cypress Hill has been working on an album for roughly a year. Currently in the mixing phase, Muggs has produced half of the album’s material so far, going to DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Mike Shinoda for the rest. In June 2009, Soul Assassins: Intermission was released, featuring RZA, Prodigy, Evidence, The Alchemist and Bun B. The first single for the album was “Gangsta Shit,” by Bun B and M1 of Dead Prez. Despite its high-profile guest list, the release was met with lukewarm reception, and Muggs later clarified its status as a preview before the release of Soul Assassins III, the next full-fledged installment of his Soul Assassins series. Muggs plans next on recording his 5th V.S. album with group member B-Real. On the Soul Assassins website, it was revealed that Muggs had also contributed Production of the album from rapper Apathy, called “Honkey Kong”, on the track was titled “Fear Itself”.

In late 2011, Muggs planned on releasing a new album called “Bass For Your Face” which he describes as a West Coast “Dubstep” album that has a hardcore old hip hop feel to it. Although he says the album will feature an extensive guest list, thus far the only confirmed guest named is London Grime MC P-Money. In October 2011, Muggs also confirmed via his official Twitter account that legendary Public Enemy Frontman Chuck D would contribute to the long awaited album, and the albums lead Single would Feature UK artist Dizzee Rascal and Los Angeles upstart MC Bambu.

“Bow” is the first single off Soundclash Business, out October 16 via Mishka Records. The EP features appearances from New York rappers A$AP Rocky and Chuck Inglish. The track is an aggressive head-nodder, fueled by Muggs’ dexterous MPC triggering. The video takes place in some dusty underground dance/fight club.

In October 2012, DJ Muggs posted an update about the album and some other projects he is working on: “So BASS FOR YOUR FACE was turned in to the label 1 month ago [Sept 2012] and still waiting on a release date from the label.
