Hot Music Video – Va Va Voom & Come On A Cone – Nicki Minaj

“Va Va Voom” is a song by recording artist Nicki Minaj from the deluxe edition of her extremely popular second studio album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (2012). The song was initially planned to be the first single off the standard edition of the main album, but it was eventually scrapped for the release of Starships.” Musically speaking, “Va Va Voom” is a dance-pop and electro-pop song. Lyrically, the song talks about sexual activity towards a male. Va Va Voom received very positive reviews from music critics, praising the crossover music from Minaj’s experiments with pop and hip-hop music, along with it being catchy and radio-friendly. Before the song was initially taken as a single, the song manage to chart successfully in record charts. A music video was shot in Los Angeles. Though it was intended not to be released, following its single release, Minaj released the video on October 26, despite not being happy with the end result. “Come on a Cone” is a song from Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album, originally released in April 2012. The song was written by Nicki and Chauncey Hollis. The song was produced by Hit-Boy. It received mainly positive reviews, but it was criticized for its explicit chorus. Video Synopsis: The music video was filmed in December 2011, in Los Angeles and was directed by Hype Williams. Nicki expressed her disliking of the end product, but eventually stated that it will be released as a result of the song becoming a single. The music video premiered on E! News. The video is about Nicki’s fairy tale depicting her and her prince’s fairytale life, two unicorns, Snow White slaving in a kitchen, fighting of the Huntsman and in her coffin at the end. The final scene portrays Nicki’s prince finding a magic mirror in the forest which has a curvaceous Wicked Queen in the mirror who flirts with the prince. The video is a remake from Snow White.

Lyrically, the song talks about “seduction finds Minaj playing the temptress atop some delicious dub-lite pulsations.” The lyrical content sends mixed messages “I know that he got a wife at home, but I need just one night alone […]”

Video Synopsis: The Grizz Lee directed music video features footage of the female rap star at live shows, seated beside Kanye West and Kim Kardashian at the BET Hip Hop Awards and hug out with Tyga, Waka Flocka Flame and her right-hand man Scaff Beezy. This song features Minaj as Roman Zolanski and is rumored to be another diss song to Lil’ Kim, following Stupid Hoe.” Minaj makes references to Ellen DeGeneres in this line, “When you see me on Ellen / Just admit that I’m winning” and Oscar de la Renta with this, “Front row with Oscar / De la Renta posture.” Also Anna Wintour with this one, “When I’m sitting with Anna / I’m really sitting with Anna / Ain’t no metaphor punchline / I’m really sitting with Anna.” Well known designer Versace with, “Do a show for Versace / They request me by name / And if they don’t get Nicki / It just won’t be the same” and Cee Lo Green with, “My commercial with Cee Lo…” Roman said in a cartoonish type voice the title repeatedly. Critics compared it lyrically to Stupid Hoe.”

Many had critics had problems with the chorus. The most infamous and controversial line from the song is, “If you wasn’t so ugly / I’d put my dick in your face”, and then Minaj breaks in to song, “Dick in your face / Put my dick in your face.”

Although not being officially released as a featured single. A short music video for the song Come On A Cone was released as a low budget teaser to the re-release of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. It was directed by Grizzlee Music and released through his YouTube channel.
