Peter Ibrahim “Parker” Ighile is a Nigerian British producer, rapper, singer and songwriter. He is currently signed to Nicki Minaj‘s, yet to be named, record label and serves as her first official artist. As a producer and songwriter, he has worked with artists like Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Jessie J, N-Dubz, Chipmunk and Conor Maynard. At the age of 18, he started his professional music career, producing Chipmunk’s song “Oopsy Daisy“, which reached #1 in the United Kingdom. Parker produced and co-wrote 7 songs in total on the I Am Chipmunk album which peaked at #2 on the UK album chart and was Certified Gold. Parker studied music in college and university, respectively. However, while in school he had also learned more of theoretical aspects than practical ones. He started in music production at age 11 after he and some of his friends formed a Christian music group. Parker’s music is influenced by a wide variety of genres, from R&B, hip hop, rap, dance and underground, even to Bollywood movie soundtracks. Also due to early and frequent exposure to his mother’s diverse taste in music. Ighile states, “My philosophy is that the wider your knowledge and taste in music is, the more innovative and outstanding your own music becomes.” Check out his new “So Beautiful” official music video below after the jump…

The “So Beautiful” music video which was directed by Yasha Malekzad. Who also directed videos for other artists: Enrique Iglesias, Usher, Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Dev, Tinchy Stryder, Ludacris, The Wanted, Paulina Rubio, through Jacuzzi Films. Parker takes a romantic stroll in the white sand with his gorgeous girlfriend as he sings some sweet melodies. The video is set in black and white, which follows the story of a young couple. The song can be found on Parker’s upcoming mixtape Young, Dumb & 21. ”Hell Yeah” is a song by Nicki Minaj from the re-release of Minaj’s second studio album called Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up, which features guest vocals from Parker. The song was the third track on the album. “So Beautiful” was written by Onika Maraj, and Parker Ighile, the song was produced by Parker. Minaj happily tweeted to her fans that, “He also produced the beat n wrote the hook.”

Parker went on to write with The Invisible Men and Jessie J and co-wrote her debut single, “Do It like a Dude“ as well as “Who’s Laughing Now“. More credits include a song on N-Dubz‘s Love.Live.Life abum, which he cowrote with Ina Wroldsen. Parker used trans-genre influences to create a unique and dynamic sound and also produced Angel‘s “Wonderful“ and also Conor Maynard‘s song “Vegas Girl”.

Parker Ighile teamed up with music strategist Efe Ogbeni, who was heavily involved in the success of super producer Red One, to help further propell him into the music business. In November 2012, Minaj announced that Ighile was signed as the first official artist to her yet-to-be-titled label.She has described his musical artistry as “lethal and dope”. Nigeria’s Parker Ighile who was featured as Notjustok’s Hype back in September 2012 was spotted with Nicki Minaj while she was on Tour in the UK last week.He has since produced Minaj’s “Hell Yeah” and Rihanna‘s “What Now”. In late November 2012, A song titled “So Beautiful” leaked on the internet, and Ighile announced some weeks later on Twitter that he was working on a mixtape called, Young, Dumb & 21, which is set to be released sometime in early 2013 and that “So beautiful” would act as the first single on the mixtape. Ighile’s artistry is usually compared to Sting’s and Fela’s and his production to that of Kanye West.

Its rare to find and have the pleasure of being introduced to a unique and talented producer, composer, singer and rapper who thinks outside the music box and delivers those thoughts through his lyrics and sound that blows your mind. Parker is one of the rare gifted artists who can walk into any setting and can create sound with whatever instrument on a quality artistic level that will truly move your soul and mind.
