Keri Hilson Tells Her Haters “Miss Me With The Drama” and Says “Enough Is Enough!”

Keri Hilson

When getting hated on is too much, people fight back. We have to ask how much hate can someone actually tolerate and still be at peace with themselves without literally going nuts? We have seen many unnecessary Twitter beefs go on between various celebrities and also fans versus celebrities over the past several years. However, this particular news coming from sensitive R&B diva Keri Hilson is ready to leave the past behind and move on. Keri is really tired of getting hated on and is calling for an end to the years of constant criticism she’s endured from all of her haters. Unfortunately the singer has been the major target of hurtful insults since 2008 when she had recorded a remix to her hit single “Turnin’ Me On.” The song oddly sparked some controversy for its suggestive video and its lyrics, “Your vision cloudy if you think that you the best / You can dance, she can sing, but need to move it to the left,” she sings. Listeners for some reason started speculating and causing friction assuming that Keri was dissing Beyoncé or Ciara, which she adamantly denied. Keri had tweeted to her haters, “miss me with the drama,” causing some to interpret her words as fuckery. But instead of ignoring all the hate this time, she literally pleaded for her haters to just leave her alone and get over it. Check out her tweets from earlier this morning…

Keri Hilson Tells Haters Let It Go on Twitter - March 2013

In one of the heartfelt tweets Keri had stated, “I’m here for MY FANS! I’m stronger than you imagine, but waking up/goin to bed to your ugliness is just TOO MUCH, kids. I get it, ok? You can stop now.” Most of you are wondering how did this beef really start? During a January 2013, interview with Hip Hollywood, Keri had did her best to put a stop and get a smack down all the nasty rumors floating around about her regarding her feud with Beyonce. Maybe all the problems had started back during 2008 when Keri wrote the lyrics on her remix to “Turnin’ Me On” which say, “She can sing, but need to move it ‘to the (left)’ / She need to go have some babies / She needs to sit down, she fadin’… / Go ‘head and tell them folks how long I been writing your songs / I been puttin you on, just check the credits.”

During the interview, Keri had insisted that no such beef existed with Beyonce or any other female artist. When Keri was asked about her alleged beef she had replied, “No, I don’t have a beef with any female artist. I think it’s just interesting that we live in such a gullible world. Anything that’s written, anything that is posted, and a picture that is interpreted one way, is truth. It’s like bible now. You can Photoshop something, put it out and everyone believes it.” That’s true…

During that interview she talked about how hurtful gossip is, “I’m human and it is hurtful. It’s not okay to make up something about someone, in their personal lives especially. Professionally, fine. Scrutinize me all you want, I know I can’t please everyone. But personally, let’s just leave it alone, it’s going too far.”

Keri has talked about it several times over the past 4 years and explained that the verse had nothing to do with Beyonce or Ciara. If it doesn’t, then her haters need to keep it moving, stop wasting time hating on her and drop it. Get over the damn drama.

Keri Hilson Wasted On Red Carpet Flipping The Bird

During an interview on 106 & Park in October 2011, Keri had revealed that she has already begun recording her third studio album. She revealed that, “There’s some people in the world that aren’t gon’ like this album coming from me. As I was experiencing the world, there were things that I was also experiencing on a personal front, and in my music it’s coming out. There’s a specific few people who ain’t gon’ like to listen to this album. Very emotional, I’ll say that.”

In an interview with The Boombox Keri said that she’s working on a new sound for the anticipated upcoming album and had described it as a mixture of her first two albums with some surprising elements thrown in. She also has said a release date has not been confirmed yet, “I just write about my experiences and keep the release dates far, far from me. When I feel that I have [good material] is when I will give it to the label. But I’m not quite there yet. I’m still working.” Keri has also recently made her acting debut in a romantic comedy film called, Think Like a Man, that was released in April 2012. Keri will also reportedly star alongside Vin Diesel in the new sci-fi action film, Riddick (2013), but it’s unknown what role she will play.

What do you think about this situation and the horrific hate that Keri has received over the past several years? Do you think she was purposely attacking Beyonce and Ciara in those lyrics or are stans and haters taking the hate way to far?
