The wild and crazy tales of a “on the run” fugitive and eccentric millionaire named John McAfee are something out of a comic book. Since this crazy story and life of McAfee went viral. The Anti-virus software founder has been answering questions from many reporters since this all started. McAfee arrived back in the U.S. on Wednesday, December 12, after being deported from Guatemala, where he had sought refuge to evade police questioning in the alleged killing of his neighbor Gregory Faull back in neighboring Belize. On December 3, McAfee posted on his blog saying he had not been arrested, he said “I am currently safe and in the company of two intrepid journalist from Vice Magazine, and, of course, Sam. We are not in Belize, but not quite out of the woods yet.” At that time McAfee said he would return to Belize and that the Vice story will make everything clear. Later that day in the photo that was posted along with a story announcing that they were shadowing McAfee “We Are with John McAfee Right Now, Suckers.” Vice screws up and leaves meta data in the image that allows it to be pinpointed to a location in Guatemala that McAfee was close to. In another deleted blog post McAfee writes a blurb from an undisclosed location. He said, “I openly apologize to Vice Magazine for manipulating their recently published photo… I, for my own safety, manipulated the xif data on the image taken from my cellphone, and created a fake emrgency so that the urgency of movement led, as I knew it would, to the hasty posting on their website.
