What could’ve this well known company that boasts the following slogan on their Twitter and Facebook accounts, “STRATFOR is a private intelligence company. Follow for non-ideological, independent analysis of international affairs and security threats,” been thinking? How could they have been so negligent and thought that this couldn’t happen to them. Looks like they have seriously screwed up this time and hopefully will fix their security hole. Now STRATFOR is going out of their way to make sure their reputation stays clean. Now mind you STRATFOR members include individuals from, FORTUNE 100 corporations, govt agencies and other organizations around the world. I’m sure by now they realize why they were targeted and embarrassed in cyberspace. Who was the their target? Was it STRATFOR’s CEO, Dr. George Friedman, who’s a widely recognized international affairs expert and author of numerous books, including two New York Times bestsellers “The Next Decade” (Doubleday, 2011) and “The Next 100 Years” (Doubleday, 2009). As well as “America’s Secret War” (Doubleday, 2005) and “The Future of War” (Crown, 1996). On December 24 an announcement rolled out from AnonymousIRC‘s twitter account stating, “Merry #LulzXmas to everyone. Stratfor rooted.
