Christopher George Wallace (1972-1997) also known as “Notorious B.I.G.” was a rap artist who was murdered on March 9, 1997. The FBI opened a civil rights and color of law investigation into the murder, the case was closed in 2005. This new release consists of several FBI files dating between 1997 and 2005. Some of the details surrounding Notorious B.I.G.’s murder include the following information…
Wallace traveled to California in February 1997 to promote his upcoming album and record a music video for its lead single, “Hypnotize”. On March 5, 1997 he gave a radio interview with The Dog House on KYLD in San Francisco, California. In the interview he stated that he had hired security since he feared for his safety; this was because he was a celebrity figure in general, not because he was a rapper. Life After Death was scheduled for release on March 25, 1997. On March 8, 1997, he presented an award to Toni Braxton at the 11th Annual Soul Train Music Awards in Los Angeles and was booed by some of the audience. After the ceremony, Wallace attended an after party hosted by Vibe magazine and Qwest Records at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Other guests included Faith Evans, Aaliyah, Sean Combs, and members of the Bloods and Crips gangs.
On March 9, 1997, at around 12:30 a.m., Wallace left with his entourage in two GMC Suburbans to return to his hotel after the Fire Department closed the party early because of overcrowding. Wallace traveled in the front passenger seat alongside his associates, Damion “D-Roc” Butler, Junior M.A.F.I.A. member Lil’ Cease and driver, Gregory “G-Money” Young. Combs traveled in the other vehicle with three bodyguards. The two trucks were trailed by a Chevrolet Blazer carrying Bad Boy’s director of security. By 12:45 a.m., the streets were crowded with people leaving the event. Wallace’s truck stopped at a red light 50 yards (46 m) from the museum. A black Chevrolet Impala SS pulled up alongside Wallace’s truck. The driver of the Impala, an African American male dressed in a blue suit and bow tie, rolled down his window, drew a 9 mm blue-steel pistol and fired at the GMC Suburban (click the picture above to make it bigger); four bullets hit Wallace in the chest. The brand of ammunition was Gecko and is a metal piercing bullet made in Europe and rarely found in the United States. Wallace’s entourage rushed him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m.
The FBI files contain some very interesting information saying on November 1, 1994: “TUPAC was shot 5 times during a robbery in the lobby of Quad recording studios, in Times Square, NY. BIGGIE and members of his entourage were inside the same studio at this time. Without evidence, TUPAC and members of DEATH ROW believed that BIGGIE had knowledge or involvement in the shooting.” Also, they state that the night that BIGGIE was murdered, “Shots were fired in front of the building where BIGGIE was killed. Lots of off duty Police Officers who were present, went where the shots were fired leaving no LAPD Officers when BIGGIE is shot. Very professional same as Bank robbery. This allowed the BIGGIE killer to “strike” at the right time with no officers around.” They also noted that, “Sources have stated that other LAPD Officers were present and seen talking on cell phones when WALLACE was leaving the party and entering his car.” The deaths of Biggie and Tupac left many to speculate if the coastal hostility had been responsible for their demise. The depth of the police investigations were criticized by public and judicial sources alike. Both cases remain officially “cold cases” and unsolved.
Some other shocking information revealed that, “BIGGIE and his entourage had connections with the Genovesse Crime Family in New York.” Wow, that is some incredible info and pretty surprising. Since he was signed with Bad Boy Records does that mean that Sean “Diddy” Combs is affiliated with the Mafia too? If you want to take time to read and see what the files contain. This release consists of a 1997 investigation into allegations that extortionate death threats that had been made against Shakur and another rap artist by a domestic terrorist group. We all wonder if these cases will ever be solved. I personally think that the “connections” they both had and the similar style of both murders, mean possibly they were ether killed by the same “individual(s)” and/or the same connections setup the whole thing. Either way, the LAPD and several other agencies failed in their investigations, because they were deeply involved with the fuckery going on behind the scenes. Both of these rappers will never be forgotten and several of us out there want these murders solved and justice sought. I’m going to be realistic here and say the chance of that happening in my life time, looks pretty meek…Sad…
