“No Church in the Wild” is a song by hip hop artists Kanye West and Jay-Z, from their first collaborative album Watch the Throne. It is the first track on the album and features vocals from OFWGKTA singer-songwriter Frank Ocean. Also R&B artist The-Dream contributed vocals, though not credited on the tracklist. Jay-Z has referred to “No Church in the Wild“ as one of his favorite songs from Watch the Throne. The song was recorded in New York. It impacted urban radio on March 2012 as the album’s seventh single. “No Church in the Wild“ was featured in the trailers for the action film Safe House and the 2012 film adaptation of The Great Gatsby. At a listening session in the Mercer Hotel, Jay-Z said that he initially reached out to Frank Ocean after being impressed by his mixtape, Nostalgia, Ultra.
